The Story Behind GRH36

GRH36 was created by someone who grew up in Bastar and, like many others from Chhattisgarh, left home to study, work, and explore the world.

And like many others, there was one question that kept coming back:

Why do so few people know about us?

Outside Chhattisgarh, conversations about culture often revolve around a handful of well-known regions. But when people heard "Bastar" or "Chhattisgarh," many had no idea what it meant. Some associated it only with news headlines. Others assumed we had little culture, little history, or little to offer.

The reality couldn't be further from the truth.

We come from a land of stories, art, music, festivals, tribal traditions, forests, craftsmanship, humor, and communities that have preserved their identity for generations. Yet so much of it remains unseen.

GRH36 was born from the desire to change that.

Not through textbooks. Not through lectures. But through things people use every day.

A t-shirt that starts a conversation.

A design that makes someone ask, "What does that mean?"

A product that helps someone carry a piece of home wherever they go.

For those of us who live outside Chhattisgarh, these designs are a way of staying connected to our roots. For those discovering our culture for the first time, they are an invitation to learn something new.

Alongside cultural designs, you'll also find creations inspired by pets, humor, and everyday life—because culture is not only history. It is also joy, personality, and the things that make us smile.

Our dream is simple:

To help people reconnect with their roots, celebrate lesser-known cultures, and remind the world that every community has stories worth wearing and sharing.

One conversation at a time.
